Update: The frame rate was bugging me, so I added twice as many frames and sped up the delay between them so it would go a little smoother. Also, I added my sig, since I forgot it on the previous version. ^^;

"There's one of me, too," she said, "off the entryway. I'm not too fond of it. It's another of Leota's. It's been covered with a curtain to keep it from view."

He watched in silence as the picture went though it's transformative cycle before turning away, looking a little disturbed. "May I see it? Would you mind?"

"If you like," she said a little stiffly. She didn't want to keep it from him. Quite the opposite of how she had been acting earlier, she wanted to be completely forthright with him, now. "It's through here."

Constance pushed gently on the door that hadn't been there a moment before, and it opened into a grand foryer with a double half-moon stiarcase leading up to the second floor. Hung on the second floor at the top of and inbetween the stairs was a heavy red velvet curtain, about the size and shape of a king-sized mattress.

"Up there," she drew his attention to it, unneedingly, and led the way up the right-hand stairway, seeming to float as she had before.

He pulled back the curtain to reveal the painting, certain that any "improvement" that Leota might have made would be far less than flattering.

It was Constance, as she would be if alive. Her skin held a beautiful peach glow, and her dark hair was pulled up and piled on top of her head. Her eyes were a lovely shade of green, even in life, and a pert little smile curved on her rosy lips. She wore a lovely gown of jade green trimmed heavily in gold.

Then, as he watched, the smile grew cruel, malicious, and in her hand, where she had been holding a red rose, a bloodied hatched appeared, her ungloved hand gripping the handle tightly with conviction. The blood from the hatched was splattered on her gown, her skin, and her once well-kept hair was falling about her face in dishevelled tendrils.

(Ah, yes. I'd forgotten about the disheveled tendrils when I started working on the picture. Oh well. I think composed but bloody is just as creepy, if not creepier.)

In the Haunted Mansion roleplay, both Constance (Jade) and Charlie have changing portraits. At first, it was just going to be a before and after shot, but then, upon expressing interest to see it change, I was convinced to just make an animated gif.

So, here it is.

I used two pictures as models. One is the snake-headed lady and the other is April-December. I tried using different brushes when working on this, so it would feel more like a painting and less like a digital piece. I hope that comes across. I don't really like Constance/Jade's face shape in this, but I was trying to mimic Mark Davis' style when drawing it. I think I failed. ^^;

I decided to go for the old style of change - a gradual fade from one image to the other - ratehr than the current style - changing with the flashes of lightning - because it just works better for the changes I wanted to make. (Also, that way, I didn't have to make the changes occur dramatically in white.)

I'm quite pleased with the wallpapers. They're both actually from the Haunted Mansion. ^___^
