I have decided I'm going to force myself to not be self-conscious about what I wear in public. If I have no problem going out looking like a slob, why should I have a problem going out looking "weird"?

Yesterday, I wore a knit tank top with a faked-up lace up job going up the frint with lace behinf the lacing. And under it, I wore my Ren Faire shirt. And around my forehead, I wore a circlet I bought at Ren Faire a few years ago. And blue jeans and my oh-so-comfotable Ren Faire sandals. It felt awesome to be basically dressed in costume in public for no real reason. I really need to do that more often. I've been wanting to do it for a long time! And it was great!

I might make myself more Ren Faire-style shirts to wear on a more regular basis! I also totally need to dress goth-ish more often, because I love their clothes. I just need to find a version of their clothes that I find cmofortable. Because I'm all about comfort. Even though I have a sense of style, it's hindered by my insistance on being comfortable at the same time. So even though I find high-heeled shoes cute, I rarely wear them because they hurt my feet.

Anyhoo, yeah! I wanna start feeling like I look cute again, so I'm gonna do something about it!

Haha - that's fantastic hun! I must say - dress however*you* want to look and you will definately have more fun! 90% of my clothing is theatrical or what the unwashed masses would label as victorian goth and I absolutely love it! It really shows who you are and that you are not willing to let public opinion dictate how you present yourself :) That, PLUS it's super fun AND most of the people you meet will be so interested and intregued they won't have any inclination to be assholes about it :P I've even had parents take pix of me with their kids - especially like when they ask if the kid can wear one of my tophats :D So cute!

Awesome. I wanna dress more rennisan-ish - usually it's because I either don't have the time to make clothes or they are too expensive. :D But, I have a whole set of clothes that I would like to make one day! :D

Haha - yep! Tophats, trenchcoats, corsets, army boots, elbow gloves and all manner of crosses grace my day to day wardrobe :D Amusingly enough - I think 90% of my facebook pix are from trips and cottaging and such when I couldn't bring such fun things and was stuck with easy packables :( So the world outside Kanata will probably never know the full extent of my wardrobe :(

That is so bad-ass! I really admire that you dress how you want and don't care about the outside world.

I'm all into the corsets and elbow gloves aspect of your wardrobe. ^_~ I just wish corsets were more comfortable.

Hehe - I know! Some of mine are full out like with bones and all that - but they do have other ones that are either half corsets where your hips are free to bend and the bones only start highter up on the sides, as well as faux ones with wire instead of a less malleable material - so it bends with you? I have all three - and while the real ones are my fav's - they are certainly the most difficult to wear! I definately love my prom one best - full corset in crimson silk with black lace patterning and laceups on the back and both hips. Love sooo much!
