Another really long meme

Journal Entry: Wed May 27, 2009, 10:46 AM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Radio Buena Vista
  • Reading: This journal
  • Watching: Supernatural
  • Playing: text RPGs
  • Drinking: Irish breakfast tea
THE NUMBERS:

ONE - Write your name without vowels: Bck (y is a vowel in my name because it makes an ee sound)

TWO - Are you single?: No

THREE - Whats your favorite number?: 3, 7 and 13

FOUR - What colour do you wear most?: Black. And I'm kind of tired of wearing so much black. I want to brighten up my wardrobe somewhat.

FIVE - Least favorite colour: I'm not horribly fond of yellow or orange when it's man-made, though both are awesome in nature.

SIX - What are you listening to?: Radio Buena Vista, a Disney theme parks radio station on Live365.

SEVEN - Do you smoke?: No.

EIGHT - Are you happy with your life right now?: Mostly, yes. Happier than I was with it this time last week.

NINE - Anyone ever said you resemble a celebrity?: Nope!

TEN - What is your favorite class in school?: Marching Band was my favorite class in high school.

ELEVEN - Do you shop at hollister/abercrombie/AE?: Eew, no!

TWELVE - How do you make money: I work full time at an accounting office as a bookkeeper.

THIRTEEN - Who is/are your best friend(s)?: Emiko is my for really real bestest best friend, JJ is my legal best friend and Lynisha is my best friend from high school.

FOURTEEN - When do you start back @ school/college?: Never. I mean, I have no specific plans. I want to take some classes, but not in a "go back to school" capacity. I really don't think college is for me, and I'm starting to truly believe that my purpose is not in an occupational capacity, that I'm meant to work at whatever job to make ends meet, but that my purpose has more to do with friends and family and less to do with carreer.

FIFTEEN - Are you outgoing?: Sure am! Though I'm also kind of shy in some ways.

SIXTEEN - One word to describe you?: Compassionate.

SEVENTEEN - Favorite pair of shoes?: These black running shoes I got from Target. They're made of a few layers of mesh and the soles are foam. I'm really fond of them. Let's hope they last me as long as my Sketchers did.

EIGHTEEN - Do you own big sunglasses?: No, I own small sunglasses. I don't like big ones. When I was a kid, I used to mock my mom for her bug-eyed sunglasses.

NINETEEN - Where do you wish you were right now?: Hanging out with Emi. At Disneyland, I think.

TWENTY - What should you be doing right now?: Working. >_>

THE CANS:

Can you blow a bubble?: Yes.

Can you dance?: Hmm... I can learn dances. I danced in high school. But I'm not good at club-type dancing. And when I watch videos of my dancing performances, I don't come across as graceful to me.

Can you do a cart wheel?: You know, I've been meaning to try to do a cartwheel for a few years now! I used to be really good at it, but it's been so long since I've tried, I don't know if I can or not! I can skip, though, and I can put my fingers upsidedown on my face like glasses/a mask.

Can you tie a cherry stem?: If you mean with my tongue, no. If you mean with my fingers, yes, I have the dexterity. But I think you meant with my tongue.

Can you whistle?: Yes, sometimes better than others.

Can you wiggle your ears?: No.

Can you wiggle your nose?: Not really, but I do this facsmimile of wiggling my nose that passes for it.

THE DIDS:

Did you ever get into a fist fight in school?: Nope! I've only ever fistfought with my sister. And never at school.

Did you ever run away from home?: Yeah, when I was nineteen. It took me quite a while to realize that what I'd done was run away from home. I moved to Chicago to be with my boyfriend, and he turned out to be mentally and a little physically abusive. Plus, I lived in a car for several months. In Chicago. In the winter. I was out there for a total of six months before I came home.

Did you ever want to be a doctor?: I wanted to be a vet and I wanted to be a nurse. So together, I'll say yes.

Did you ever want to be a fire fighter?: Nope.

THE DOS:

Do you believe in God?: Ah, theology! This is actually the question that made me want to take this poll! I believe that every religion has truth to it, and that no religion is one hundred percent correct. I believe that people are drawn to the religion that speaks to them the most, and that all gods in all religions exist. I believe that the Christian god is an ego maniac, trying to convince humans that he's the only god. My personal belief system is based around (and this is where people will start looking at me funny) "imaginary friends." Emi and I call them the Aldahi, and they are all the characters that are "made up" by people everywhere. They can be friends, lovers, guardian angels, anything we want them to be. I believe all gods are Aldahi, as are fae of all kinds, mythical creatures, angels, demons, ghosts, all characters from books, television, movies, plays, etc. I believe that these "characters" aren't created so much as discovered. It's dificult to ascertain, however, whether we've made up their looks and personaily or are "divinely influenced," espedcially when a character seems to be a collaborative effort. Yes, this means that I belive all my characters are real, on another plain, parallel with ours and sort of transparently overlapping. There's a barrior that keeps us from really seeing and feeling and hearing them, but we can channel them and act as them for each other. We are making up our own religion based on them, doing a lot of scientific and theological research to prove our point. The way we treat the Aldahi is how many Christians treat Jesus and how children treat their imaginary friends. We find it frustrating to think that, if it's done with Jesus and angels it's acceptable, but if it's done with "characters we made up" it's cosidered kind of nuts. It's a work in progress.

Do you know how to swim?: Sure do! And I rather enjoy it.

Do you like roller coasters?: Yes!!

Do you own a bike?: Not anymore.

Do you think you could handle the stuff they eat on those reality shows?: Eew, no!

THE DOES:

Does hair loss run through your family?: It might... I don't think so, though. My mom's hair is naturally thin, and my grandma suffered hair loss before she died, but I think it was because she was a chain smoker.

Does your car get good gas mileage?: It gets okay gas milage for a ten-year-old SUV.

Does your family have family picnics?: We did when I was a kid.

THE HAVES:

Have you ever been on a plane?: Yep! Most recently was February!

Have you ever gone fishing?: Once, when I was a little girl, at a fish farm.

Have you ever painted your nails?: Yes. In fact, I need to repaint them. Painting my nails is the only thing I've found that keeps me from biting them.

What is the temperature outside?: 60.5 F

What was the last thing you bought?: Gas, probably.

What was the last thing you had to drink?: Irish breakfast tea.

Do you cry when you get an injury?: Oddly, I do, sometimes, when people are around. It's like being an overgrown toddler. If I know people are more likely to come running to my aid, I'm more likely to cry, and it's not a conscious thing. But I've gotta be hurt damn badly for that to happen.

Do certain songs make you cry?:  Yes. I'm a sentimental fool. Get me int he right mood, and Disneyland songs make me cry.

HAPPY SECTION:

Are you a happy person?: Generally speaking, yes I am! When I'm upset, my friends always wonder what's wrong.

Do you wish you were happier?: I've been having an emotionally hard time (for me) of late, so yes. I could stand to be happier. Though it's not like I just sit around wishing I was happier all the time.

Ever made a hit list?: No! Of course not!

Have you ever been on a hit list?: Not to my knowledge...

Are you a mean bully?: No, I'm not a bully at all. I always hated it when my sister teased me, so I make an effort not to tease others.

Do you hate George Bush?: I say I do, but I don't tend to hate people. Just be really really angry at them.

SELF-ESTEEM SECTION:

WOW. This took me forever to get through! :D Totally worth it though :) I love learning all these things about you - especially your views on God. Original much! :D Am totally stealing this. :)
:iconlokotei:
 Go for it! And I'm glad you liked it! Honestly, it's been a little nerve-wracking outting my religion like that. Because that's one that's totally up to ridicule, you know?

You realize that this means that, according to my religion, Xavier is real. ^_~

Mmmmm - do want! :D Hahaha - that's brilliant
:icondecorinne:
Oh I know - that's the fun thing about religion though, unless you're some arrogant self-inportant prick who doesn't believe in freedom of thought, it's such a subjective individulaistic thing that each person's religion doesn't have to be a carbon copy of the person beside them :) It's all about what you PERSONALLY believe and I for one find it fascinating to learn about all the differences in thought on the subkject! :D Hehehe - definitely one of the most original though ;)
:iconlokotei:
:HUGE grin: Knew you'd approve. ^_~

:iconlokotei:
It's those self-important pricks that get to me, though. Them, and those who think that believing in "imaginary friends" as an adult is a sign of mental illness. Like... my husband doesn't know about my religion because he'd think I was having some kind of a mental breakdown. =X I'm trying to develope the explanation well enough to tell him about it while still assuring him that I'm perfectly sane.

:icondecorinne:
Lol - totally. I have been involved in my church in a leadership capacity since I was 9 and I have seen my fair share of self-important jerkoffs :P It always kinda dually depresses and amuses me how some people take the very tenents of their faith; LOVE and acceptance, and manage to disregard them entirely while CLAIMING to be pious. Ick. That does suck though about not being able to discuss it with your husband ^^; I guess that wouold be a little tricky though. He'd probably think you were joking ^^; Eeesh. Hmmm. It kinda reminds me in some ways about Philosophy class in high school though. Ideal Forms? Someone theorizrd it anyways - and it kinda reminds me of your viewpoint in a way? Not in terms of specific, just the general feel.
:iconlokotei:
I'm not familiar with Ideal Forms.

Wayne's problem is that, when he was in college, he was so heavily into role play that he, at one point, believed himself to be his most commonly played character. And now he's afraid of me "taking my role plays too far."
