The emotion behind the idea of this picture is one of family. So many people spend time drawing pics of the Avatar characters in couply situations, and while I'm not remotely knocking that, this, to me, is much more what the show's about. About the comradery, the friendship, the familial loyalty of the core characters. I didn't "leave Toph out" per say. She didn't make the pic because, while she is becoming better friends with the characters at every episode, she has yet to express to them and they have yet to express to her the feeling that they are all one family. Katara and Sokka, on the other hand, have told Aang several times that they're his family. We can just assume that Toph is pretending to stear Appa. ^____^

Unlike my last Avatar pic :cough: I actually made a valient attempt at shading. I even had sunlight directional lines while I was working on it. I hope you can tell how much effort I actually put into this one. I even made the effort to make it look like they where somewhere (Appa's saddle, flying), rather than hanging out in blank space. And the background is all me. And by "all me" I mean than I took the photo of sky and clouds I used. I was running out of energy and inspiration by the time I reached that point, so I figured I'd just use something that is still my art, just not my drawing. Sue me.
